Super Easy Zippered Bag

I don't know why I've been so afraid of zippers. Seriously--it's silly how much I've avoided projects with zippers. It's SO EASY. My goodness! Thanks to an encouraging comment on my last post from Amy of Sews N Bows I have officially conquered the [regular] zipper.

Amy posted a link to her post about quick and easy lined bags. She links to this tutorial on how to make the bag. Here's my result:

I found the Marvel fabric on clearance at Walmart, and the lining is leftover from my skirt. I found the zipper in my stash--it was the perfect quick project. Thanks for the suggestion, Amy!

What should I work on next?

  1. It's fabulous!!! Great job! Now the big question...who gets it, or are you keeping it for yourself!

    1. Thanks, Amy! I'm selfishly keeping it for myself--but I have some leftover fabric to make a more boy-oriented one and I have TONS of ideas to make ones for gifts in the futre! :) And I made my watermark in Photoshop...I just brought the transparency down on the purple circle. Thanks again for the awesome tip/link!

  2. Ps. I love your watermark. I've gotta figure out how to do that.

    1. Thank you! It was a pure luck find, but I'm so glad I found it!

  4. That's THE most adorable thing- I absolutely love Marvel comics (so, it's a good thing I have a little boy to use as an excuse for it ;)) and I just think this is the cutest. :)

I am gonna follow you 'cause I can already tell that when I get a new sewing machine and start trying to sew, again, you'll be a huge inspiration!

I'm also super duper new to blogland:

    Anyway, awesome project!
